Jeremy Main Joins PharmAssist

We are very pleased to announce that Jeremy Main has joined the Board at PharmAssist Solutions as a Non-Executive Director. Jeremy is very experienced and well-known in the pharmacy sector having spent 13 years with Alliance Healthcare, latterly as Managing Director from 2008 until 2017. Currently, he is the Independent Chairman of the Healthcare Distribution Association.

“I am delighted to join the Board of the UK’s leading online medicines purchasing solution for community pharmacies. From my own experience, I know just how important it is to provide pharmacy owners with easy access to the products they need at highly competitive prices; particularly at a time when government funding for the sector has been cut. I will be working with the PharmAssist team to ensure we continue to meet the needs and interests of existing and new customers and partners by delivering a great service and developing new solutions and services”.

The recipient of the prestigious Pharmacy Business ‘Pharmacy Business of the Year Award’ was Rohpharm Pharmacy, a community pharmacy with branches in Ilford and Plaistow. Directors Jignesh Patel and Rohit Patel are Numark members and attributes some of the pharmacies’ success to the introductions Numark has made for them.

“I want my pharmacy to provide the very best healthcare to local people and that’s only possible by keeping abreast of new developments and having excellent relationships with GPs and others in my community. Having very busy pharmacies, we couldn’t do that if we were on the phone sourcing products all day. As such, we were able to create headroom by leaving the stock procurement to a more capable organisation like PharmAssist. The software compares the prices from our usual wholesalers and places the order with the one who provides the lowest price. Simple. It’s great too as not only has it freed up my time, it has also increased my purchase profit substantially”.

Jignesh’s pharmacy was also the first pharmacy to be the pilot site to integrate repeat prescribing between GP surgeries and community pharmacies. The pharmacy, which uses ProScript from Rx Systems, linked with two GP surgeries using the EMIS Web clinical management system.

“I want to drive innovation in healthcare. The technology now exists for me and the surgery to add value to the patient by providing joined up care. GPs cannot cope with their current workload and pharmacy can help, this interconnectivity will make it happen and is the future of primary care. Together these two technological solutions have ensured I can grow my business, increase profit and deliver better patient care”.
